Reconnecting with a regular habit of reading the word of God is so important because it helps you grow in maturity as a Christian. Pour your heart out to Him.ġ6“useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness, 17so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Prayer is a gentle, non-threatening conversation that you have with God. You will sense that peace and calm that only He can bring when you begin coming back to God. You will know in your heart that He heard you. God will always hear your prayers, and He will answer them when we come with faith and honest intention. Say it to Him in prayer any way you need to. Repent for drifting, going your way, and leaving His safe and compassionate touch. Just release everything to Him in prayer. God knows you better than you know yourself. No, just a simple conversation of the heart to Him about your relationship with Him. I don’t mean the fancy long, drawn-out religious prayer. Prayer is a perfect way to guide you when you’re coming back to God. There is nothing to feel shame or guilt over. Trust His love for you again without the guilt and shame. You looked away from Him and to the world, yourself, your insecurities, failures, and shortcomings. You drifted because you took your eyes off Him. He loves you totally and completely because of who He is. God loves you, not because of who you are or what you've done. 18grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.” (Ephesians 3:17-18) He wants you to know this from His word.ġ7“I pray that you, being rooted and established in love. You are His beloved, and His love for you is everlasting. Nothing in this life will stop Him from pursuing you. He is calling out to you every day while you are away. You only need to remember that you belong to Him. God watched you come to Him, and He watched you drift away. They try to tell you that coming back to God is impossible. They are familiar friends from a past life of sin and not a part of your new life in Christ. Guilt and shame are like handcuffs to the old life you left behind. Let’s see how you can start your journey of coming back to God and get you reconnected. Every little bit of drift pulls it further and further off course. Drifting is a season you can recover from, and you can always get back on course.ĭrifting away from God happens so slightly that we hardly notice it until we are entirely off course, like a ship drifting on the ocean. There are clear paths to restoring that first love. The Christ your heart loved is still there. Coming back to God is possible and drifting away is not your final destination. When the world comes into focus, and that focus begins to fill your heart full of the world’s cares, drifting from God is on the horizon.īut there is a way back. It creeps in when you are not totally focused on Him and His love for you. Drifting away happens when you take your eyes off Him. It’s a spiritual infection of sorts that creeps in on the believer if they are not careful. What happened? What changed in your life? Why is the love you once felt now feel so far away? You find yourself sliding back towards the old habit patterns that you left. The Bible is not as exciting as it was at the beginning of your relationship. Jesus doesn’t seem as close as He used to be. You never felt so transformed from a life of misery to a life of wholeness in Christ. You just drifted away.Īs a baby Christian, you are so excited and full of love for the Lord that you read the Bible every day, pray every day, and tell everyone about your relationship with Christ.Įverything looked new and wonderful. As a baby Christian, you never thought you'd leave this relationship. The new relationship with Christ you had was so wonderful and fulfilling. The place of brokenness that most people experience causes them to leave everything and run to Christ. No other decision changes your life so drastically and completely. You have started to feel anxious all the time and overwhelmed with spiritual things.Ĭoming to Christ out of darkness is the most important decision a believer can make in their life. Your relationship with God is different, off. You are not even sure God hears you anymore. You rarely pray, and the prayers feel empty and shallow when you do. You just don’t feel the way you first did when you came to Christ. You woke up and realized that you were failing in your faith. You thought the love in your heart would never leave. The day came that you thought would never come as a new believer.

And we did a lot of work - this is actually something I'm extremely proud of - to optimise our disc access pattern. "So we had to completely re-architect how we deal with data. "And if we would have put all the levels in, which we didn't, because then the disc image generator broke, it would have been around 290 gigs of data. "I think at some point the disc image that we were generating was around 180 gigs," said van der Leeuw. It soon became clear that this approach wouldn't work on PS4, and Van der Leeuw's team had to go back to the drawing board. (Digital Foundry clocked the Blu-ray at 41.5GB.) Unconcerned by file size, Guerrilla had duplicated textures for each level to make the game stream from disc more quickly, and included high-quality videos several times over in different languages. This conundrum is perfectly illustrated by the fact that Killzone 3 was actually bigger than Shadow Fall. The next-gen consoles present something of a push-pull challenge for developers: on the one hand, their powerful GPUs and large amounts of RAM can handle extremely high fidelity assets, but on the other, the push towards digital distribution has made consumers more sensitive to file sizes. "The surface area, I'm just guessing here, must be five to 10 times bigger than Killzone 3 was."īut he took pains to reassure me that the studio had worked hard to optimise the file size and get players into the game as quickly as possible. "I think we're probably a lot larger than the other cross-generation games, because we have no assets that have been made to a lower spec." He also pointed to the much larger, more open design of the game's levels compared to previous Killzone games. "The bulk of it is textures," Guerrilla's technical director Michiel van der Leeuw told me. It seems that the high quality art assets used by the PS4 are the main culprit. (Infinity Ward has now reduced that to 40GB.) With the new consoles moving towards digital delivery and servers struggling to distribute titles like GTA5, how would our poor internets and hard drives cope with all that data? And why is Killzone so big in the first place? There's been some consternation about the file size of next-gen games since Sony's UK boss told Eurogamer that Killzone was "cracking on for 50GB" and Nividia suggested that the PC version of Call of Duty: Ghosts required 50GB of hard drive space. Using Sony's PlayGo system, which allows a game to be played while it's still streaming data off the servers, Shadow Fall will be playable after a 7.5GB download. At an event at Guerrilla's Amsterdam offices this week, the developer confirmed that the final version of PlayStation 4 launch title Killzone Shadow Fall clocks in at 39.7GB (in Europe, anyway: some localised versions of the game, needing fewer audio tracks in different languages, are closer to 37GB). However, the slightly domed sapphire glass on top of it adds a couple of millimeters to its overall dimensions.īesides the ultra-thin case, this 38mm Swiss-made watch also strikes with a clean black dial and a suited black leather strap. One of the components of the brand’s DNA is also the slimline design of their quartz timepieces when this particular model comes with a case thickness of only 7mm. With the Raymond Weil Toccata, the brand “celebrates the artistic and musical spirit behind their DNA.” Their design revolves around music and is inspired by world-renowned composers. Raymond Weil is an affordable Swiss manufacturer with some of the classiest dress pieces on the market. Both of them are ultra-thin watches with minimalistic designs. For example, there’s the grey Bering Slim watch that is equally durable to the one covered here. If you are not a fan of blue watches, Bering has a couple of alternatives for you. In addition, the 9mm-thick case is of higher grade 316L stainless steel, as is the mesh strap that perfectly fits the wrist’s contours. When it comes to quality, the Bering Solar is equipped with an appreciated sapphire glass that is almost impossible to scratch. Therefore, it is quite common to read the time wrong when not paying enough attention. The hands, though, won’t hold the lume for too long, and neither is it strong enough.Īnother problem with the watch hands is that the second hand is more prominent than the minute hand. The dial has a blue number ring and a dark blue center ring with a luminous handset in front of it. In terms of overall appearance, this timepiece is streamlined with no corners, reflecting its futuristic stance. It means the watch charges itself from light, never needs a battery replacement, and runs up to 12 months without any light source applied to it. Namely, this Bering runs on highly convenient and eco-friendly solar power. However, the watch is far from minimalistic regarding the quartz movement it employs. The Bering Solar Quartz comes in a world-famous Scandinavian design that is spiced with futuristic motives. Also, the discomfort coming from the stiffness of the strap fades over time and becomes barely noticeable in a matter of weeks.Īll in all, for around $300, this Tissot is definitely one of the best bangs for the buck – a Swiss-made watch with sapphire glass and luxurious appeal is a rarity at this price range. Although there’s no proven correlation between the stiffness and the durability of leather, I can say from my own experience with Tissot that the straps are long-lasting. You should bear in mind, though, that Tissot leather straps tend to be pretty stiff. On top of the quality of the crystal, the sapphire is also domed, which drastically enhances legibility from angles. It runs on a Swiss quartz movement and features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. On top of the magnificent aesthetics, the Tissot Tradition is also very durable. But, in spite of its classic design, you’ll find some neat design elements that add extravagance, such as the textured dial and raised Roman numerals. Equipped with a three-hand movement and a date window, it makes it a spot-on dress wearable. The Tissot reflects the classic style the brand is so famous for. While most Tissot dress watches measure around 10-15mm in height, there is one model with an ultra-thin 7.4mm profile – the Tissot Tradition Dress Watch. Without much doubt, the Swiss brand of Tissot should be one of the first watchmakers to turn to if an elegant, sophisticated, and thin timepiece is under consideration. Bethesda Executive Producer and Director Todd Howard-also interviewed for the GQ story-says that the technology powering Starfield will also be used to provide “next gen features and tech” to The Elder Scrolls 6, which should come as no surprise to fans that have seen the symbiotic design relationship between The Elder Scrolls and Fallout games of the seventh console generation. The next Elder Scrolls game joins Bethesda’s much-anticipated space opera Starfield, which is set to launch Nov. The motif includes the 'Sword-dancer' and 'Sword-singer' sets, both containing a style that is a cross between heightened fantasy and a call-back to ancient warfare, which The Elder Scrolls 6. Bethesda Reveals Update on The Elder Scrolls 6 Development By Sam HargravePosted: JWith titles in the works for multiple major franchises including Fallout, Indiana Jones, and The Elder Scrolls, Bethesda may be one of the most talked-about publishers in the gaming industry. But in order to be on Xbox, I want us to be able to bring the full complete package of what we have.” Since The Elder Scrolls 6 will be harnessing the power of the next gen consoles, this is the perfect opportunity for Bethesda to show off what they can do with a significant upgrade in. In fact, you can still play that game on an Xbox Series X if you still have the disc and didn’t give it away to your friend’s kids like some kind of well-meaning goof before going to grad school.Īnyway, as Sam White explains in the GQ feature, Microsoft has had an unofficial partnership with Bethesda Games since 2002 with Xbox as the “lead console” for development, long preceding last year’s acquisition of the studio.Īs Spencer puts it, exclusivity is “not about punishing any other platform. While The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Skyrim were released on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 at launch, the Xbox was alone among the three major consoles of the sixth generation to have the processing power to run The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. In an interview with GQ magazine, Xbox head Phil Spencer confirmed that the long-awaited sequel to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the yet-to-be-subtitled Elder Scrolls 6, will be exclusive to Xbox consoles and PCs. There’s a hunger for The Elder Scrolls 6 that is unique to Bethesda. At the time, he admitted that it was announced so that fans would stop asking about it, but in reality, it’s done the opposite. That’s pretty much universally agreed upon, even by Todd Howard. Good news, bad news, or ugly news, we’re getting another direct ripple from the Microsoft acquisition of Bethesda. The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced too early. The Archimedes principle is also used in a large variety of scientific research subjects including medical, engineering, entomology, engineering, and geology. Archimedes' principle describes how ships float, submarines dive, hot air balloons fly, and many others examples, according to Science Clarified. It can be useful in measuring the volume of irregular objects, such as gold crowns, as well as explaining the behaviors of any object placed in any fluid. The Archimedes principle is a very useful and versatile tool. From the buoyant force, the volume or average density of the object can be determined.Īrchimedes was able to determine that the crown was not pure gold due to the volume of the displaced water, because even though the weight of the crown was identical to the weight of the gold that the king gave the crown maker, the volume was different due the various densities of the metals. If the water that spilled out were weighed (weight is a downward force), it would equal the upward (buoyant) force on the object. If a glass is filled to the top with water and then ice cubes are added to it, what happens? Just like the water spilled over the edge when Archimedes entered his bathtub, the water in the glass will spill over when ice cubes are added to it. Forgetting that he was undressed, he went running naked down the streets from his home to the king shouting "Eureka!" The Archimedes principleĪccording to Boundless, the Archimedes principle states that the buoyant force on an object submerged in a fluid is equal to the weight of the fluid that is displaced by that object. Knowing that gold was heavier than other metals the crown maker could have substituted in, Archimedes had his method to determine that the crown was not pure gold. Soon after, he filled a bathtub and noticed that water spilled over the edge as he got in and he realized that the water displaced by his body was equal to the weight of his body. by Vitruvius, a Roman architect.Īrchimedes thought long and hard but could not find a method for proving that the crown was not solid gold. The story was first written down in the first century B.C. The story behind that event was that Archimedes was charged with proving that a new crown made for Hieron, the king of Syracuse, was not pure gold as the goldsmith had claimed. (Image credit: Designua/Shutterstock) 'Eureka! Eureka!'Īrchimedes has gone down in history as the guy who ran naked through the streets of Syracuse shouting "Eureka!" - or "I have it!" in Greek. The Archimedes principle: The buoyant (upward) force acting on an object is equal to the weight (downward force) of the displaced fluid. Extremely little staff interaction and engagement with the guests. Negatives Many staff evidently with low morale and appear to be overworked and inadequately trained. Excellent patisserie serving delicious cakes and coffees. Nice ambience around the hotel and grounds. The grounds - Really beautiful and well kept, lovely trees, flowers, different birds singing all day. Beach, excellent location, good quality sunbeds eith comfortable mattresses and large unbrellas. Room interiors nice, clean, modern, excellent mattress, room size, bathroom and balcony. Several nice, attentive, engaging, professional staff, especially in the patisserie and pool bar. Barut Hemera positives: Good food, good selection from main buffet restaurant. These managers and supervisors need to be stood at the restaurant entrance greeting their guests with eye contact and a smile. Staff must engage with guests in any hotel. But at the Barut Hemera, the managers and supervisors, (male staff with black jackets or white shirts with name badges), are all speaking to each other, ignoring guests, which is unacceptable. The Rixos owned hotels where I have stayed on previous occasions have class leading, personalised customer service with plenty of interaction, warmth, engagement, professionalism and attention to detail. Or possibly it's just this particular Barut hotel which has this problem. This is usually indicative of a cultural problem within the company itself. But these few staff are sadly outnumbered by other staff, who appear to have low morale and inadequate training. There are several excellent staff who stand out, who are engaging, warm, kind, professional. Absolutely no interaction in this 5 star hotel, which clearly has a customer service issue, specifically with management and supervisors, who appear to be incompetent regarding customer service. Easily visible all around, especially in the main buffet restaurant, where I would expect staff to be at the door greeting guests as they enter the restaurant. My first impressions were the hotel is lacking staff engagement, warmth and interaction with the guests. In Turkey, I usually stay at Rixos hotels, but on this occasion, I tried the Barut Hemera in Side. I've stayed in very many hotels, from 2 star to 5 star, over the past 40 years of travel, in an extensive variety of locations around the world. I will write an opening statement then highlight specific bullet points of the hotel's positives and negatives. Based on my subjective experience of staying here for one week, all inclusive. This is my review of the Barut Hemera hotel. The Rixos owned hotels where I have stayed on previous occasions have class leading, personalised customer service with plenty of interaction, warmth. Cost per unit also helps you decide what to charge for each product to ensure you're making a profit. Why is cost per unit important?Ĭost per unit is important because it can give you an idea of how efficient and successful your company is so you can take steps to improve if needed. Companies include this figure on their financial statement. Cost per unit, also referred to the cost of goods sold or the cost of sales, is how much money a company spends on producing one unit of the product they sell. Service-based businesses can also use a cost per unit for their business, but it is usually a little less straightforward of a calculation. You can use the same method for calculating the overhead costs and materials if you know the percentage of completion of each pricing factor.Cost per unit is a calculation many product-based businesses use, from smaller local stores to national corporations. To use the FIFO method, only the percentage of beginning parts completed during the accounting period is used, along with the production costs incurred in completing those units. This leaves:ġ,000 (beginning production)+ 4,000 (added to production) – 3,000 (parts completed) = 2,000 parts in production. Let’s say there were 2,000 parts completed at the end of the last accounting period and that the parts- in-process are 30 percent done. During March, 3,000 parts are completed and moved out of production. During that accounting period (March), let’s say that an additional 4,000 parts are added to production. Here’s a walkthrough of the formula using our parts example if there are 1,000 parts in beginning production during the month of March. Using FIFO, you'll have two percentages to determine for beginning and ending inventory.Įquivalent units under FIFO method are calculated using more variables than the previous example:Įquivalent units for each cost component = (100% − A) × B + C + D × EĪ = percentage of completion at the end of last periodĬ = units added/started and transferred outĭ = percentage of completion of units in closing work in process The entire equation can be further simplified to:Įquivalent units of production = units transferred out + equivalent units in ending work in process inventory − equivalent units in beginning inventory.Ĭalculate the units of production from both materials and conversion. Businesses will first sell the finished inventory that they first receive, followed by any inventory they receive later, hence first in, first out.Įquivalent Units of Production = equivalent units to complete beginning inventory + units started and completed during the period + equivalent units in ending work in process inventory.Įquivalent units to complete beginning inventory = units in beginning inventory × (100 percent − percentage completion of beginning inventory). The second method of calculating equivalent units of production uses a FIFO method or First-in First-out. When you use weighted averages, all work accomplished in prior periods is not factored into the equations.įirst-in First-out (FIFO) Method of Calculating Equivalent Units of Production Note that, in the weighted average method, beginning work-in-process inventory is ignored. T otal equivalent units = 650 equivalent units of production + 300 +. Using the formula given in the first section (Number of partially completed units × percentage of completion = equivalent units), the equivalent units of production are transferred to the next department of finished goods plus the equivalent units in the department's ending work-in-process inventory. Total equivalent units for a cost component = A + B × CĪ = units transferred out to the next department/finished goodsĬ = percentage of completion with respect to the relevant cost component The calculation is different for a weighted average. The weighted average method to calculate equivalent units of production combines units and costs from the current period with units and costs from the prior period. Weighted Average Method to Calculate Equivalent Units of Production A little note which has nothing to do with the training but more to do with the layout of the website, would have been nice to have click and play functions options like in youtube, press the bar key on the keyboard to pause the video and back again to play it, double click to expand the page to full screen. The beauty of this tutorial is that every single video is somehow connected and you feel like you are drawn by it. At first I was thinking that even for a complete beginner this course might seem a little too fast and it feels like you are missing a lot, for example what I tried at first was opening photoshop and try to follow the lessons step by step and definitely not easy, but then, chapter after chapter, he is repetitive, goes over things very often giving you a hint of what was previously shown and said and it is very easy to reconstruct what was previously learned. I am amazed by the simplicity he has when talking about topics in this tutorial. When you have a great Teacher like Aaron everything it’s easy. Characters similarly mirror this sentiment, with the occasionally spunky villager girl, the noble strongman who lost a lot, and the curious researcher who seems to be enjoying the thrills of seeing different eras, unlike everybody else. Or at least nothing worth praising.ĭespite trying to make its world seem interesting with an ancient race, a destructive war with humans and the unsurprisingly noble demons, a realm occupied by creature who exist throughout time, and interconnected storylines between eras, the world of Evoland 2 is easy to dismiss as that of a typical JRPG, so bogged down in tropes and trends associated with the genre that it feels unoriginal and derivative without being either comedically or endearingly so. If that description brings to mind Chrono Trigger, you are not alone, as Evoland 2 takes numerous nods from one of the most beloved RPGs of all time, yet whereas Chrono Trigger had an interesting world whose multiple permutations all held some appeal, a storyline that managed to be fun, simple, and engaging, along with a cast of memorable characters, Evoland 2 has basically nothing. Rather than settling on a wafer thin storyline, Evoland 2 aims to be a greater story centered around the mute amnesiac hero Kuro as he and a jaunty crew of temporally displaced companions go on a quest to save the future from a great disaster while also trying to restore time as best as they can. The first way this is achieved is, unsurprisingly, with the story. Instead, the game aims to be something different and notably grander than its predecessor, but amounts to a significantly worse and less interesting title. Potential that could very well be pursued through a sequel, but that really is not the case with Evoland 2.
